The Board of Directors taps the executive and senior management small business and corporate experience of young professionals and retirees, also drawing from active and retired university academics living in the greater Viroqua area.

Frank Wildingway
Founding Board Member / Board Chair

B.A. degree in English Literature with Creative Writing minor – University of Indiana.

Performance Artist, Musician, Writer, Visual Artist, Actor and martial Artist, Frank has been on stages all over the United States and his 2D work and Poetry is held in several private collections. Beyond food and water Frank believes creativity is the key to a healthy and happy life. He encourages people to not worry about perfection and just DO something. The process is where it’s at. Frank Wildingway is a working artist whose art crosses many mediums, including visual, performance and domestic arts.  It has been a lifelong desire of his to be a part of a collective art movement specifically related to the conversion of a church into such a center, so his dream is being fulfilled.  He holds the vision and is currently installing a massive and major art piece in the bowels and bell tower of the Ark.

Elliot Medow
Board Member

MFA in Painting UW-Milwaukee

Worked in Film and TV in NY, Arizona and Los Angeles and in Restoration of Outsider Art environments in the Midwest. Accepted position on Ark board in order to help perpetuate what now seems to be the only regional home for Populist art free of commodification that is available to all, specifically in the form of permanent installations.

Connie Polestra
Secretary to the Board

B.S. in Architectural Studies. Artist/Writer.

Believes Art in whatever form can elevate and transform both the doers and the viewers. Strongly supports the Ark in its adaptive reuse as a home for the Arts, and the building itself as an evolving expression of artistic creativity.

Shannon McHone is a lifelong learner and lover of nature and art. She earned her M.Ed from Antioch University New England, and BA from University of Northern Iowa. She has worked for numerous non-profit organizations in administrative and managing roles. She is creator of Artgarten: Early child hood art programs. Shannon enjoys keeping the Ark afloat and welcoming the community aboard.
